I picked them all up from the Biltmore hotel on Friday morning and headed to Studio 8 downtown.
I love working with Nicolle as she always has a great vision and works with the best team of people, we had a fabulous makeup artist and hair stylist to make us pretty and Erika had 2 sets each for us to wear.

It's always a pleasure working with Nicolle and i got to make some new pretty friends with Andi and Megan. We all got to hang out after at a lovely vegan cafe in town and then headed off for a weekend of debauchery at Hell City :)

]]> kandyland http://www.kandyk.com/index.php?itemid=66 Mon, 30 Aug 2010 13:39:20 -0600 http://www.kandyk.com/index.php?itemid=64 I went last year and met an awesome artist Sean Herman, he tattooed my neck, at the time my son was only 3 months old and i pretty much had to leave right after he finished. So this year me and my family got a room so we had a chance to hang out and check out the show over 2 days.

We arrived Saturday just after noon and i went to meet Sean Herman, he designed the most gorgeous tattoo from a reference picture i had sent him online, he really does have such a unique style, a real mix of traditional and realism, and his use of color is beautiful. Here's the piece he worked on, it took about 7 hours in total. I'm pretty swollen and sore.

The hotel after party got a little crazy, bed diving, tequila shots, pineapple massacre and roof top adventures. You had to be there. haha

So a great weekend with old friends and new ones, Hell City Phoenix is gonna be a new tradition, we'll be there next year for more tattoo's and fun times.

xoxo]]> kandyland http://www.kandyk.com/index.php?itemid=64 Mon, 30 Aug 2010 13:11:10 -0600 http://www.kandyk.com/index.php?itemid=62 Ever since loosing my mum at 18, i've had this view on life that it's there for the living, i can't stand people that talk about wanting to make big changes in their lives but let the smallest things stop them. I owned a house, had a beautiful dog and a job that was ok, but it wasn't right for me, i knew i needed more.
So i sold my house ( with the help of my awesome father) and packed all my belongings in to my dads garage ( where they still sit now!) and found myself walking the stars of Hollywood Blvd. I lived there for a while, amongst the fabulous and freaky, it was a very interesting time of my life, and it led to me meeting my husband and falling head over heels for him.

Since then a lot has happened, and i won't bore you with all the details, but, i kinda feel like there's a little string tied to a lamp post somewhere in Hollywood and the other end is attached to my ankle. I always want to go back, even for just a night. And when i do, even though many things change, i still see the same faces and end up in the same familiar places. For someone that travels a lot and hasn't really had a permanent home for longer then a couple of years, the place just feels right.

So i had the chance to go back and visit recently, i have an old school friend that lives in downtown LA so me and my man thought we'd pay her and her husband a visit, maybe consider moving there in the future if things went well. I mean, i wouldn't move to H'wood, now i'm all grown up with a kiddie, but i like to flirt with the idea of living by a beach someday in California.

So below are a couple of pictures from the night out on the blvd, and i managed to fit in one shoot with a lovely LA photographer Jennifer Erickson.

And we shot on the top of my friends apartment building as the sun was setting, there was such an amazing view, made me miss the city. And it was kinda cool to shoot in a bikini in such an industrial setting, i've been doing so much pinup style work recently it was a breath of fresh air to do something different and out of the studio.

We went to an awesome Greek place to eat, i know i sound like a loser but i'd never had Greek food before and it was amazing! And so vegetarian friendly, i've been missing out!


So we had a great time, got to hang out at the beach too. But i don't think we're ready to move yet. The roads scared the hell outta me and the city is so expensive, i don't think we could do it while Ollie is still so young, But maybe in a couple of years we can work it out. As much as i like to make changed in my life and do exciting things, i have two beautiful boy's in my life now so i have to do what's best for the 3 of us :)

Thanks for sticking around, i miss writing detailed blogs so i'm gonna make more of an effort now, so you guys can get to know me better.

The whole thing came together perfectly, they're such a blast to work with, and the feeling of having the water mist on me while in the heat made being outside in 115 degree's totally fine!

Here's some of my favorite shots from the day, you can find the bikini's for sale on Etsy, they're beautifully made and totally unique, i think every girl should own one!
Oh and the accessories were provided by UK company Kitsch Kaos ( they make the most amazing handbags!) and Pirate Doll Boutique made the large hair flowers, love their stuff!

After checking in to the hotel and unpacking a little i had to rush to the show to go shoot for the Ink & Iron calendar with Vestige Photography. We found an awesome airbrushed pink and pearl glitter hotrod and a bright green one that matched my skir, she had me posing in all kinds of uncomfortable ways but usually when your body aches the next day, it means you got some good shots! I got to meet a couple of the other lovely pinups entered in the pageant, everyone was so friendly.

After my shoot i was picked up by an old school friend and we headed out to Hollywood for a night out, Man, has the place changed since i was there 3 years ago! Loads of new bars and restaurants, really great to see the place looking so good. We ate at a 24hr diner on Cahuenga blvd and went to a couple of the old haunts like Burgundy room and Kung Pao Kitty, it's funny how you can be away from a place for years yet still bump into some old faces. I really love Hollywood and all my friends that live there.



I crashed at my friends loft around 3am in downtown LA and got up at 6am for a shoot for ALT exclusive magazine. Slickforce studio was amazing, they had such a great set up there, i had my makeup done by the talented and lovely Jennifer Corona, whom i've wanted to work with a long time now, and my hair was done by a fabulous stylist, Danielle June. She created this awesome 40's style pinup doo which i absolutely loved! cont...
The first outfit i shot in was a fabulous purple latex bodysuit made by Uk designer Violaceous Latex.

It looked fabulous all lubed up, at one point i had a girl rubbing lube on the latex, another rubbing baby lotion onto my skin and another adjusting my hair! I could barely stand!
The 2nd set was a stunning gold sequin corset and lingerie set by Purrfectpineapples.com, It's amazing and i really can't wait to see the pictures when ALT release them. We also shot live video.
There were actually 8 models altogether, 3 of which were English! I finally got too meet Ulorin Vex, who is just as beautiful in real life, and a UK burlesque performer, Daquiri.
After the shoot i headed back to Long Beach for the Stop staring fashion show in the Queen Mary with Bindi. We had awesome fun with the 30 other girls, although it seemed to take no time at all to walk down the runway and show off our glamourous dress's! Thank you stop staring for involving us!


After the show, i headed back to the hotel and got ready for dinner with the pinup lifestyle crew. I was absolutely starving by then!
Met some really lovely people who i've been talking online with for a couple of months now, and had my first chance to relax all day.
During all this, my cell phone charger decided to break and my phone die, which caused me a nightmare of a night as i couldn't get in touch with anyone, i spent the rest of the evening looking for friends aboard the queen mary and getting completely lost! I gotta admit, the ship totally freaks me out, after all the stories of ghosts and creepy activity, when i found myself walking alone along the narrow wooden walkways filled with 40's music, i was filled with dread! I'm the biggest wuss and just wanted to run!
I eventually found my way out after about an hour and was reunited with my friends. What a day!


I can't wait to see the feature and video from the shoot at slickforce, i'll let you guys know when it's available online!

I flew to Orange County last weekend and spent the day with him at his studio, we had such a blast and talked each other's ears off! After a bunch of awesome shots were taken, we went for burger's at a rad 50's diner, Robert shared his catalogue of cringe worthy jokes and talked me into partaking in a chocolate sundae!
Then we went to the beach, i think he felt sorry for me as i hadn't been near the water in 3 years, poor Kandy! So i dipped my toes in the surf, took a couple of pictures as proof of my adventure and nearly got washed away by a huge wave!
I'd love to move to California, such a beautiful place!
I need to start playing the lotto!
